Joining Us
If you are no longer in (nor seeking) full-time work, we offer a wide range of activities and interests in the company of other like-minded people. There is no lower or upper age limit.
Interested in joining?
- There are usually around 50 activities every month - see the calendar of our events on the home page. All meetings are subject to change, and there may be other visits and one-off events which are not shown.
- An excellent Newsletter is published each month, which is e-mailed to those who are on e-mail. For those who are not, printed copies are delivered by post or by willing helpers. Some printed copies are available at the monthly meeting.
- In addition, members receive the magazine 'u3a Matters', which is published four times a year by the national u3a head office.
- Members can sign-up to receive 'u3a Friends': a monthly email with news stories and advice from across the u3a movement. That will also give you access to Friends Extra - a diverse range of offers, discounts, and additional services.
Our activity groups are listed on this website. On joining, you will receive the latest newsletter with the contact details for their co-ordinators. Before attending any of our activity groups' events, please contact that group's co-ordinator to ensure that there are places available.
If you provide an email address, then you will receive your monthly Newsletter electronically. The Committee will always communicate with you via email where possible.
We have an agreement with Blackwater, Limebrook, Burnham, Dengie, Crouch Valley and South Woodham Ferrers u3a that our members will be welcome at their activity groups if there are enough places available. Preference will always be given to the organising u3a's members.
Membership costs £ for 1st September 2025 to 31st August 2026.
